We moved into our new offices in downtown DC in November. However, until this week, we hadn’t bothered to put anything up on the walls. We were really busy, but more importantly we were really particular about what we put up. We wanted to showcase the artwork of our super talented design staff, and find stuff that spoke to our office culture. This week we finally made some progress, so I wanted to highlight some of the things we’ve put up.
Mixed Media Piece
This piece isn’t actually finished yet. It is a mixed media piece that is being put together by one of our designers, Freddy Trejo. The finished product will get installed next week in our reception area. Click on the photo for the full view.
Social Media Propaganda Posters
This is a print we got off Etsy that pays homage to YouTube cat videos. It is from a cool collection of propaganda postersfor social media companies.
A Foursquare-themed poster from the same collection.
Employee Art
A very cool, if slightly ominous, work or original art put together by our former design intern, Liz Hallock.
Hunter S. Thompson
A “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” print by Ralph Steadman that hangs in the office of our CCO, Tom McCormick.
Hot Ziggity
In addition to being a Hunter S. Thompson fan, Tom is also a “horse person.” A few years ago he purchased a “champion racehorse” named Hot Ziggity, who allegedly won some races back in 2000. The painting below commemorates Hot Ziggity’s victory in the 2000 West Virginia Breeders Classics XIV. High art.
Willie
This poster commemorating Willie Nelson’s 1980 4th of July picnic may or may not be hanging in my office.
